Who am i?
I am a creative coach, contemporary arts educator, curator, poet, events organiser, public speaker and trainee Integrative Arts Psychotherapist.
I have 20 years experience working in arts education and leadership, with a focus on contemporary arts practice, the philosophy and psychology of learning and creativity, and the wellbeing and mental health benefits of creative practice.
I am trained and qualified in Transformative Life Coaching, which I combine with my experience in education, and my background in cultural theory and philosophy, to offer unique Creative Coaching services to developing and established artists.
I curate art exhibitions, am Creative Director of the annual Mental Wealth Festival, and am a public speaker - regularly presenting on topics including art and creativity, creative health, mental health and wellbeing.
My passion and curiosity is toward understanding what creativity is and what it can do, and supporting others in finding, developing and harnessing their inherent creative capacity, skills and ingenuity to achieve their goals and enrich their lives.
My philosophies:
Every human being has a creative capacity
Through creative activity we can channel and experience our authentic selves
As we make ‘things’ we simultaneously make meaning - of ourselves, our lives, and the world around us
As we create our art we simultaneously create ourselves
Through our creativity we connect, communicate and interact more authentically with others
In creative activity we engage our senses, minds, bodies, emotions and energies to make and make-meaning, which provides numerous mental, emotional and physical health benefits
Our life is our greatest work of art.
